An article today in the Washington Post stated that the National Mathmatics Advisory Panel has called our nation’s math education system "broken." Our nation’s students are flagging on math and science test scores, a serious concern for our country if we want our country to have a presence in the global technology in the years to come. Already other countries are beginning to gain a foothold over what was once the leading country in scientific and technological advances.
For concerned parents, reports like this demonstrate how problematic our public school education system has become. Since it’s not likely to improve anytime soon, what are we do to? Unfortunately, seeking outside help is a necessity, so you might want to consider Washington DC tutoring. Even though we are guaranteed a free education for our children, we can’t depend on it to teach them what they need to know, but Washington DC private tutors can help us to pick up the slack.
Although this panel was not designed to report on it, reading scores are pretty poor in the U.S., too, so you might also consider looking into Washington DC reading tutors. Reading is a critical skill that all kids need to excel in school and, ultimately, in a career.

Ask someone today what they want to be when they grow up and you might be surprised to learn that many want to be stars on reality television shows. This isn’t so surprising when you think about the fact that almost everyone wants to have a little bit of fame in their lives. Plus, many reality television shows let people do something they love while getting attention for it from a national audience.
For example, there are many people with jobs in interior design who have made a living off of working on reality television shows. Shows like Trading Spaces have cropped up to let designers do their work in front of viewers while helping their customers create the homes and other living spaces that make them happy.
Of course, to be able to do well enough in interior design, you need to be educated and experienced in the art of it. Harrington Interior Design School is one example of a place where students can study interior design. (Collins College and Brown College are two other examples for people who don’t find Harrington to be the right choice). These schools offer a degree that is practical and can lead to employment but which has the potential to lead to minor celebrity status one day on a reality TV show.
Of course, any degree could lead to reality TV if the right person is behind it. Someone from Brooks Institute photography school might find a way to create a photography competition that fares well on television. But there’s already a market for interior design so many people find that heading that route can take them where they want to go.

Online colleges are easy to find. You simply need to go to your favorite search engine, type in the phrase and a whole slew of them will come up. But how can you tell from looking at the site whether it’s a good college or not? Online college degree programs that are of high quality all share five characteristics:
1. Accreditation. This is the most important thing to look for with any program online. You want your degree to actually count for something in the real world.
2. Different degrees. You want to find a school that offers Associates, Bachelors and higher education degrees. One size does not fit all.
3. Specific programs. You probably shouldn’t just get a general liberal arts degree online. Look for programs that give you specific skills in a career field that interests you.
4. Financial aid assistance. A good college helps you pay for your education. Many online programs fail to do this but a good one will help you out.
5. Resources. The Internet offers a sea of resources so there’s no reason that a college online shouldn’t link you to them.
Online college degrees come in all shapes and sizes. Find one that has these five qualities but which suits your personal style.
